New venture for McCormick tractors in Aberdeenshire

Newly appointed McCormick dealers in Aberdeenshire launched their new ventures at the Turriff and Keith shows and attracted a good deal of interest with their eye-catching stand.

Brian Smith at Cornhill, Banff and Mark Wood, Premnay near Insch have been appointed to the McCormick tractor dealership network by GB distributor AgriArgo to cover northern and southern Aberdeenshire beyond the territory covered by Laurencekirk-based Kirktown Machinery.

They now supply the full range of McCormick tractors, provide parts from their own stock and from AgriArgo’s stores at Harworth near Doncaster, and are equipped to service and repair existing McCormick tractors in the field.

“It’s exciting but also a bit daunting,” admits Brian Smith. “Servicing and repairing tractors comes as second nature but I’ll be on a steep learning curve when it comes to sales!”

Mark Wood sees the appointment as a great opportunity to develop the business – Mark Wood Agri-Sales – he started just five years ago: “It needed a bit of direction and focus, and becoming a McCormick dealer is certainly providing that,” he says.
